Godard, Lorraine (Marriage - 29 Oct. 1960)
Miss Lorraine Godard, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Philip Godard of Colby, and William Shookman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Shookman, Sr., of Abbotsford, were united in marriage on Saturday morning in St. Mary’s Catholic church in Colby, Wis., Rev. John Pinion officiating at the marriage ceremony. The church was decorated with white carnations and gladioli for the occasion. Sister Louise Ann played the organ.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a white street-length gown of Chantilly lace and net over taffeta. Her blue veil was held by a crown of pearls and sequins and she carried a bouquet of white carnations.
Mr. and Mrs. Walter Godard of Marshfield were the couple’s only attendants. Mrs. Godard wore a street-length dress of blue lace and nylon and carried a bouquet of pink and white carnations.
Fred Zassenhaus Jr. and Ralph Andrew ushered.
A dinner and reception were held in St. Mary’s gymnasium.
Mrs. Shookman attended Colby High School and has been employed by the Badger Basket Co. of Edgar. The groom graduated from Abbotsford High School and is a clerical secretary for the Packaging Corporation of America at Colby, Wis.
The couple will make their home in Abbotsford, Wis.
